We craft jewelry
that carries meaning.

Moonlight Pearls was born from a belief that fine jewelry should not be a luxury reserved for the few — it should be a daily joy, a mark of identity, and an heirloom passed with love.

Our Origin

A Nairobi studio
born from love of craft.

In 2017, founder Aisha Muthoni spent her savings on a bench, a few tools, and a box of freshwater pearls sourced from Lake Victoria cooperatives. Her first pieces sold out at a Westlands market in under an hour.

What started as a weekend passion quickly became a calling. Today, Moonlight Pearls employs twelve full-time artisans — many of them women from single-parent households — and ships to customers across East Africa and beyond.

We believe jewelry is not about status. It is about memory, identity, and the quiet pleasure of wearing something made with honest hands.

What We Stand For

Our Values

🌊

Ethical Sourcing

Every pearl we use is cultivated through fair-trade cooperatives at Lake Victoria and Lake Naivasha. We know the names of the farmers who grow them.

🤝

Community First

Over 60% of our workforce are women. We provide health insurance, creche facilities, and a living wage — because a thriving studio needs thriving people.

♻️

Responsible Materials

We use recycled gold alloys and water-based lacquers. Our packaging is 100% recycled and FSC-certified. Beauty should not cost the earth.
